Welcome Letter

Dear Third Graders and Families,

Hello and welcome to third grade! I am so excited that you will be joining my classroom community. I am eager to begin our third grade adventure together and have a fun year of learning planned for us. I can’t wait to meet all of you on our first full day of school on Thursday, September 6th.

I hope you and your families are having a fantastic summer. I can’t wait to hear about all of your trips and adventures in September! As you are reading, writing and visiting new places this summer, think about a memory that you would like to share with the class. I can’t wait to share some of my summer memories with you!

As I continue to plan and prepare for our school year, I thought you would like to know what items you should bring with you for the first week of school. Please see the list on the next page so you will be prepared for third grade! Please label all of your supplies with your first and last name. I will have everything else you need!

Remember, the first day of school, Thursday, September 6th, is a full day. Please bring an energizing snack in addition to your lunch. The cafeteria will be open if you prefer to buy your lunch.

In addition to the supply list on the next page, you will also find a survey for your parents to complete. This survey will help me get to know you a little better and help me plan for the year. You can mail the survey to Dutch Neck School-Attention: Mrs. Hess or you can bring it with you on the first day of school. Thank you in advance for completing it!

Third Graders, I hope you are ready for an exciting year! I know I am! We will get started right away, so come prepared to grow as a learner!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Mrs. Hess
