Dear First Grade Families,

Welcome to first grade! I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to spend the next school year with you!  First grade promises to be a year of great growth academically, socially, and physically.

This next school year we will be partners in your child’s learning. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and your family throughout the year. To help me get acquainted with your child before the start of the school year, I would like for you to complete the Hopes and Dreams you and your child have for first grade. Please open the Hopes and Dreams document and email me the completed form before the start of the school year. This information will provide me with valuable information to help start the school year with a strong foundation.

In first grade we will have snack each day and eat lunch in the cafeteria. I am requesting that a small, healthy, and nutritious snack be sent to school each day. I recommend fruit, vegetables, pretzels, etc. One food item, in addition to a reusable water bottle, should be packed separately from your child’s lunch. Be sure to send snack on the first day. On half days we will not be having lunch in the cafeteria. I suggest sending a larger snack or small lunch on these days, which will be enjoyed in the classroom.

Below you will find a complete supply list that includes the items from the first grade list as well as items requested for Room 217.  Please do not feel that you need to send all of these items in on the first day.  I know that these items can be very heavy so you can send them in slowly if you would like to.  If you have any trouble finding the items on the list, please email me. (Items in bold are specific to Room 217).
