WHAT IS A COMMUNITY?
Students will develop a basic understanding of a community, including their classroom & school community. Communities are made up of diverse cultures, workers, rules and
laws all to promote a common goal. A community can be urban, suburban, or rural.

COMPARING COMMUNITIES 
Studing the Lenni Lenape Native Americans and comparing this tribe to different tribes in the United States.

COMMUNITIES PAST AND PRESENT
Students will compare and contrast urban, suburban, and rural communities, including West Windsor & Plainsboro. Locate their community on a map. Discover how the land has changed from the past to the present. How these changes affect the Lenape way of life. Discover why people choose the communities in which they live, how citizens participate in their community, what the local government's role is in the community and how economics conditions affect the community.
