Turning another year older is a BIG deal…especially for a kindergartner!  At Maurice Hawk School, we are not allowed to celebrate with food treats (due to allergies or dietary restrictions) but we still try to make your child feel special on his/her day.  On your child’s birthday the children and I will celebrate together by:

  • Presenting your child with a birthday crown, sticker, and certificate.
  • Singing a fun rendition of the birthday song – Zippity-Do-Da Style!
  • Reading a birthday book to the class.
  • Allowing your child to be my assistant for the day!

We are not allowed to invite parents in for a few reasons:

  • Not everyone’s parent will be able to come in to celebrate his/her child’s big day so hurt feelings may occur.
  • We have a large number of children in the classroom and, though we would love to spend our time in school partying, my principals tell me I have to teach! J

If you can’t resist the urge to send something in, feel free to:

  • Send your child in with his/her favorite book for me to read and return.
  • Send your child to school with his/her favorite book to be donated to the classroom.  I have a Birthday Book Basket the kids can peruse in their free time.

Thank you so much for your understanding!  Questions?  Please contact me!

PS~ I will be able to allow your child to pass out birthday invitations ONLY if everyone in the class is invited.

Thank you!
