Homework Policy

Our Homework Policy for the 2017-2018 school year:

We are currently following a no homework system in our classroom.  That means, there are NO daily, written homework assignments.  Occasionally, I will send home uncompleted work in order for students to get caught up.  However, these situations will be rare.
If there are any homework assignments, they will be found in your son or daughter's Take Home Folder.  These folders should be checked nightly for important papers that will come home.  This is very important!

If you are going away on a vacation, please contact me to let me know for how long. At that point, I will determine if I will give you assignments before you leave or if you'll get caught up when you return.

If you have reading in our classroom, you are responsible for reading each night and recording it on your reading calendar.  I will give it out to you at the beginning of each month starting in October.  At the end of the month, please return it to me so I can record that you're completing your assignments on time. Your nightly assignment is to do at least 20 minutes of reading of books that are "just right" for you.  I will even provide the practice books that you can use each night.
