Welcome Letter

Dear Third Grader,

Guten Tag, Aloha, Namaste, Hola, Bonjour, Ciao, Shalom!  These are just a few of the ways we will learn to say HELLO this year as we enjoy getting to know each other in Room 12!  My name is Mrs. Reil and I will be your third grade teacher.  I hope this letter finds you enjoying the summer.

Room12 will be your home for the year, so I would like to tell you a little about it.  First, it is never dull.  Whether we are exploring, thinking or creating, we are always busy! Secondly, as many of you may know, we have a very pretty and docile room mascot.  Her name is Slither.  Can you guess what type of creature she is?  We have other creatures that I am sure you will enjoy too!  Each day you will be having a snack break.  To keep you in tip-top shape, I would like it to be a healthy one.  Some good suggestions are fruit, cheese, pretzels, vegetables and popcorn.  How many more healthy snacks can you think of?

Now that you know a little about our class, I am eager to learn about you.  On the first day, please bring the following items to help us get to know eachother better; a family photograph, your favorite book, your favorite healthy snack and one small item that holds a special place in your heart.

To help you prepare for third grade, below I have listed the supplies you will need.  Please bring them to school on September 4th, labeled with your full name.
