Meet the Teacher
Dear Dutch Neck Elementary School Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Barbra Walling and I will be your child’s Basic Skills Math teacher. I currently live in Robbinsville with my husband and three children. I grew up in West Windsor and attended Maurice Hawk, Dutch Neck and High School South as a student! After graduating from The University of Maryland, I worked for two years as a second and third grade teacher before moving back to New Jersey. I taught first and second grade at Wicoff Elementary School for 21 years before moving into this role as a Basic Skills Math teacher. I’m proud to work in this community filled with amazing families and devoted teachers.

Teaching and working with children is a joy to me. My many years of teaching experience have helped me develop beliefs about how I can best help students grow. First, I believe that I need to get to know my students well, to effectively teach them and meet their needs. I am looking forward to getting to know each of your children to help them continue their growth as mathematicians.

I also believe that students should take an active role in their learning. Lessons will be interactive and collaborative. Your children will learn and grow in a safe and fun environment where mistakes are considered chances for learning. I will work closely with each of their classroom teachers to create a positive learning environment where all students can be successful.

My e-mail address is [email protected]. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to a wonderful year working with you and your children.
